Tutoring is only part of the story. We also try and get to know the kids and let them know us, outside of the classroom.

So we organised a BBQ, tennis and other games day for all tutors and students. There was tennis, cricket, soccer, football, poison ball and others, followed by sausage-eating (we also have some great chefs amongst us!), and plenty of lemonade and lollies (banned from the more hyperactive types... i.e. Tom - a tutor) It was great to hang out and play with the kids on a social basis.

Another reason to hold the BBQ and games day was to show them that it is easy to have lots of fun without spending too much money. We wanted to illustrate by our actions that there is more to life than movies, shopping and computer games.

In any case, the day was a fantastic success, with everyone involved having a very memorable and enjoyable time!
