Welcome to Wednesday Night Tutoring
Wednesday Night Tutoring is a youth-based voluntary tutoring program providing academic assistance to refugee and migrant children living in the Richmond housing commission flats in Melbourne. Academic results, however, are not our only aim. Rather, our ultimate goal is to grow the person, and so we try to focus on attitudes, life skills and behaviours as well as academic tutoring.

A WNT student should be better equipped to handle life in Australia with each year they are in the program, and we use education as a means to achieve this.

By participating in this program, we also have opportunities to develop ourselves (the tutors) as people.

Each of the kids we tutor has a distinct and different story, incredible stories of where they came from, what they've been through to get to Australia and where they are today.
John (11 years old) tells Lachlan his story

... but what do the kids think? We love tutoring, each for our own reasons, but what do the kids think?
